The Thursday Cafe team were delighted to play co-host with the Morison Duncan Hall Management Committee for a VE day celebration on the 8th of May. Everyone who came along had a great time. There was music, singing, an exhibition and poetry. One regular cafe member brought along ration books for everyone to see, and tins of spam were one of the prizes in the raffle.

The cafe has continued to provide an opportunity for people to meet and have an inexpensive bite to eat in the Hall most Thursday mornings from 11-00am until 1-00pm except school holidays. Homemade soup and a roll, sausage rolls and various cakes and scones with either tea or coffee are available each week. Any profit made goes to Hall Funds, Gauldry in Bloom and nominated charities.

Each week many volunteers make and donate some fabulous food. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their hard work and support for the cafe every week. We are looking for some extra volunteers to either bake, make soup or help in any way, as some of our regular helpers move on to do other things. If you are able to help, not necessarily on a regular basis, just let us know. We would also like more help in the café itself, once again at times to suit. The team will be most appreciative of any assistance that can be given and any costs incurred will be reimbursed.

The last cafe before the summer break was held on 26th June. And as has been the case in the past, this was a fund raiser and all proceeds have gone to Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. We were delighted to say that £235 was raised for this charity.

Thank you all for coming along to see us and supporting what we do every Thursday morning. Everyone of all ages is most welcome including mothers and babies, school children and anyone from the local area who has a Thursday free or fancies a
carry-out lunch if working from home.

To any newcomer to the area, please come along and see what we have to offer - you will be made very welcome.

The cafe will begin again on Thursday 4th of September until December 11th - see you then
